Plane Crash in Kijik Lake Region of Lake Clark National Park

Anchorage, AK - On Monday, June 10 National Park Service Search and Rescue and the Alaska Air National Guard responded to a plane crash in the Kijik Lake area of Lake Clark National Park. The de Havilland Beaver aircraft, operated by Talon Air Service was carrying six persons including flight crew, all of whom survived. All occupants were rescued from near the crash site by an Alaska Air National Guard helicopter. One injured occupant was transported to Anchorage for further medical evaluation.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

Lake Clark National Park and Preserve thanks The Alaska Rescue Coordination Center, the National Guard, and local responders for their swift response and support in this incident.
