Long term volunteer positions provide the opportunity for individuals to give back to Lake Mead. You can truly explore all that Lake Mead National Recreation Area in Southern Nevada and Northwestern Arizona have to offer - some positions even provide the opportunity to stay in the park!

Long-term volunteers help support various disciplines in the park to complete priority work. Disciplines include maintenance, interpretation, education, cultural resources, wildlife, administration, visitor and resource protection, and vegetation! Depending on the type of position, hours may be flexible varying from as little as a few hours a week or month up to 32 hours a week. Some positions might even qualify for an RV site with full hookups.

Some opportunities include:

  • Campground Host

  • Visitor Center Assistant

  • Backcountry Road Monitor

  • Nursery volunteer

  • Resource Steward

  • Campground Maintenance

  • Boat Operator or Deckhand

Positions listed below will take you to www.volunteer.gov where details of the position are listed, and you will be able to apply online. Positions change often so be sure to check our site regularly. If you have a skill or talent you would like to share with us and do not see an opportunity, send us an email to fill out an application.
