One Day, Infinite Impact!

Volunteer events help park staff complete priority work while engaging with the local communities. Whether you’re looking to learn more about Lake Mead and its unique resources, earn volunteer service hours, or just to get out of the house, come and join us at one of our many volunteer events! Individuals and groups are welcome. Youth under the age of 18 are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a parent or a guardian. Our event season generally runs from October through April; however, we do offer a few opportunities in the summer. Here are just a few events that we have to offer:

  • Litter clean-ups: Come help us remove trash and debris from trails, shorelines, and other areas in the park.
  • Native Seed Collections: Assist the Lake Mead native plant nursery by collecting native seeds in the park.
  • Native Seed Cleanings: Once seeds have been collected, they must be cleaned in order to be prepared for planting.
  • Campground Beautifications: Help keep the campgrounds around Lake Mead looking nice by assisting with raking, trimming, and cleaning campsites.
  • Invasive Weed Removal: Help staff remove harmful invasive plants like Sahara Mustard and Tamarisk so that native plants can thrive!
