BOULDER CITY, NV - LAKE Wildland Fire will completed ignitions in the Cottonwood Cove area, specifically Astin, Copper Mountain, and Ski Coves. A total of 14 acres will be treated to remove tamarisk, an invasive plant species.

Under the authority provided to the Superintendent in 36 CFR 1.5(a)(1), the following park areas and facilities are closed, effective beginning January 6, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025:
 
  • Astin Cove
  • Copper Mountain Cove
  • Ski Cove
After the operation crews will patrol the area through January 8th to monitor vegetation as the fires finish burning vegetation. The Closure Notice is expected to remain in effect till 1/8/2025 at 6:00 p.m., depending on conditions.
