Permit Guidelines for Wedding Ceremonies at Lake Roosevelt

Permit Application Process

Requests for wedding events at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area are permitted on a case by case basis.

How do I apply for a permit?

  1. Apply for a permit by downloading and filling out a Special Use Permit (10-930 form).
  2. Email the completed application at least 30 days in advance of your requested event date.
  3. Pay the $45.00 non-refundable application fee at pay.gov. The application fee must be submitted with your application—this is a non-refundable processing fee. Checks are not accepted.
  4. The application will be evaluated by the park, based on appropriateness, availability, size of crowd, etc. If approved, a permit will be issued.
If an application is received less than 30 days before the ceremony, and the event is allowed to take place, there will be an expedited application fee of $100.

A special event, such as a wedding, must not negatively impact other visitor uses and does not allow for exclusive use of an area. Catered food preparation and business transactions must take place outside of the park.
