Virtual Program: Tales of the Trails

Buffalo National River

Description

Long before Buffalo National River was established, local industries like mining, transportation, and logging required enhanced access throughout an otherwise remote and rugged landscape. The legacies of these ventures remain today in the form of the trails we get to hike at the Buffalo.

In this virtual program we explore the historic uses of 3 popular trails at Buffalo National River: the Lost Valley Trail in Ponca, the Old Railroad Trail at Gilbert, and the Mine Level Trail at Rush.
