Hi! My name is Shelly Valdovinos, and I work at Death Valley National Park as a scientist in park intern, with the education department. What I love about leading these field trips is the fact that these kids get the chance to put their hands in things, get outside, get dirty, run around, and just really explore the outdoors. I often hear the kids say things like, “this was the best day ever!” Student: “I’m having so much fun here, and I really like it, and I never want to leave!” Shelly: The kids are always so excited when they get here. If we did our jobs correctly, then they’re equally as excited and exhausted when they leave!
