How to Stay Cool While Hiking in Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon National Park

Description

Hiking in the canyon this season? We are expecting hot temperatures (over 95 °F/ 35 °C).

Here is a hike smart tip! As you hike the corridor trail there are plenty of safe places to get in the creek and cool off. Get in up to your chin and lay back for at least 60 seconds.

There are a number of spots to get in the creek and cool down. When in doubt, ask a ranger! At Manzanita, Cottonwood, Phantom Ranch, and Indian Garden there are Ranger Stations where you can knock on the door and ask for assistance.
