Fiona North - Education Coordinator

Youth & Young Adult Programs

Transcript

Hello, everyone. I'm Ranger Fiona, and I work at the Ocean Alaska Science and Learning Center. I'm the education coordinator for Alaska's 11 coastal national parks. My job is to talk to scientists and other Rangers who work around the ocean in Alaska, and help them create cool programs for students like you.

I make websites, videos, and other creative materials for people around the world to learn more about science happening in our national parks. I get to do super cool things like help track wolves, and bears by helicopter, and bring teachers out to see glaciers and whales so they can come up with new ideas for their classrooms.

I started working for the Park Service as a Student Conservation Association Intern, and then seasonally before deciding to make it a career. My favorite thing about my job is that I get to learn new things every day.
