In honor of Native American Heritage Month, which includes Native Hawaiians, we encourage you to learn more about Kau Makahiki. Listen to Park Ranger and Cultural Demonstrator Kahakai'o Ravenscraft. He Discusses the changing of the seasons and the management of the ahupua’a. This was a political time period in ancient times as well, where assessments take place- assessments of the ‘Aina, the production of the Aina, the populations, and the distribution of it's resources.
