Winter Hours of Operation Begin November 1

Winter season is approaching and with it inclement weather - plan ahead before visiting the Memorial.

KEYSTONE, SD –– Mount Rushmore National Memorial will transition to winter hours of operation starting on November 1st. Visitor services will be reduced to accommodate regular seasonal changes in staffing and visitation. The adjusted hours of operation are listed below:

  • Parking Structure: 7:00am - 9:00pm

  • Memorial Grounds: 7:00am - 9:00pm

  • Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center: 8:00am - 5:00pm

  • Information Center: 8:00am - 5:00pm

  • Sculpture Illumination: Begins at sunset through 9:00pm

There are no scheduled ranger talks or other formal programs offered during the winter season. Park staff are available at the Visitor Center and Information Center to answer questions and provide orientation information to the park and surrounding area.
