Arrowweed (Pluchea sericea) is an evergreen shrub that grows in riparian areas, sometimes 10 feet high. Its generally straight, strong and flexible stems make it useful for making traditional arrow shafts, and as building material. Young roots can be roasted as a dependable food source.
