Pie Pan

Pie Pan

Py-O-My Company
ca. 1936

This pan was found near the Desert Queen Mine, one of the mines owned by the Keys family. The Py-O-My company introduced packaged baking mixes to the United States in 1936. While Mrs. Keys did most of the cooking, Mr. Keys apparently excelled at breakfast. It is unknown if Mrs. Keys ever used mixes but if she did, it must have provided a little bit of convenience to her busy schedule of taking care of the ranch and children while Mr. Keys was working at one of the mining claims.
