What kind of weather should I expect?
Spring and Fall weather can be cool, while summer is usually warm and humid. Visitors may need jackets or rain gear during inclement weather - please keep any rain gear/umbrellas with you during your visit.
Even in an urban area like Paterson, pack plenty of water, sunscreen, bug repellent, and wear loose, lightweight, comfortable clothing - especially in the summer. Hats and umbrellas can provide shade as well as water protection, and comfortable, sturdy shoes or boots are highly recommended.
Winter is frequently snowy and cold. It is recommended that visitors dress for the weather. In addition to regular winter weather, the falls provide a mist which can freeze extremely quickly. Before visiting in cold temperatures, review our tips for what to wear for winter weather.
