1 No visitor statistics were compiled at Guilford Courthouse prior to August 1939 when monthly counts were initiated based on numbers of visitors signing the guest register. Fiscal Year 1942 visitation of 12,954 was about average for the pre-war and early war years. The 1943 total of 4,852 reflects the advent of strict gasoline rationing and is the lowest annual visitation ever recorded at Guilford. Alexander R.
