Crisp-Leaf Wild Buckwheat (Eriogonum corymbosum)

Rounded, yellow shrub against brown dirt.

NPS Photo/Hallie Larsen

Crisp-Leaf Wild Buckwheat (Eriogonum corymbosum) forms very hemispheric shrubs, some quite large. The dichotomously branching stems are covered on the exterior of the plant with tiny, buttery yellow buckwheat type-flowers. The stems are a bit hairy (floccose) so this would be E. c. var. glutinosum.
