HONOLULU – On Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, electrical work will begin on the USS Arizona Memorial. "The electrical work may cause the memorial to be dark for a few nights. Because of the darkness, the flag will be brought down and will be raised the following day," World War II Valor in the Pacific Superintendent Jacqueline Ashwell said. "The patience shown by our visitors, employees, and those interested in the memorial is deeply appreciated." The work will not interrupt visitation to the USS Arizona Memorial. Reserved or walk-in tickets will still be required to view the documentary and to board the boat, weather permitting. The harbor lights will go as scheduled on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 17 and 18, 2015. Keep up on the latest changes through our Facebook and Twitter pages. |
