Pinnacles National Park and the California Condor Recovery Program

Since 2003, Pinnacles National Park has been a key partner in the California Condor Recovery Program, serving as a release and management site. The park co-manages all wild condors in central California alongside the Ventana Wildlife Society. If you see a condor, please report your sighting according to the region:

  • Central California (Alameda, Santa Clara, Stanislaus, Merced, San Benito, Monterey, Fresno, San Luis Obispo, and nearby counties)

  • Southern California (Santa Barbara, Ventura, Kern, Los Angeles, Tulare, Inyo, and nearby counties)

  • Arizona/Utah
