FORT WASHINGTON, Md.– The National Park Service (NPS) invites the community to join a public meeting on Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. at the Prince George’s County Police Department District VII public meeting room to learn more about the future of the Fort Washington Marina in Piscataway Park. The NPS will share updates about the management of the marina, and there will be an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions.

The NPS previously announced a request for proposals for a long-term lease agreement to manage Fort Washington Marina in June 2023. This request was extended in January 2024 to allow additional negotiations; however, the offeror and the NPS were unable to reach agreement on lease terms because of extensive deferred maintenance issues on the property as well as the need for dredging. The negotiations have ended without selecting a long-term marina operator.

More information will be provided to the community at the public meeting. The public meeting room is located at:

11108 Fort Washington Rd.
