Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits

The Hexagonal Outbuilding (1900) was a part of the Godding Croft era, 1891 to 1961. Saint Elizabeths Hospital owned the property and used to as a therapeutic farm. Patients lived and worked at Godding Croft, growing food products for the main institution while receiving therapeutic treatment in an agricultural setting.

The Hexagonal Outbuilding, may have been used as a milk house. A milk house is where milk could be handled, cooled, and processed. The milk would sit in shallow pans for about ten hours until the cream rose to the surface. Once the cream separated, it could be taken to the kitchen to be turned into butter, bottled, or made into cheese. But the exact use of the building is unknown.

Today the Outbuilding serves as a storage shed.
