Overview

The Appalachian Clubhouse is a historic structure located at the north end of the Elkmont Historic District on Jakes Creek Road B. The 3,000-square-foot clubhouse once served as a gathering place for the guests and members of the Appalachian Club who vacationed and built cabins in the area in the early 1900s.

The clubhouse was rebuilt in 1934 after a fire and features an open meeting hall, exposed wooden beams, large stone fireplaces, period-style light fixtures, and French doors that open onto a broad covered porch. The Appalachian Clubhouse may be rented online for daytime use from April 1 through October 31.

How to Get There

  • From Little River Gorge Road, turn onto Elkmont Road and continue on Little River Road past the campground until the road terminates in a loop with Jakes Creek Road B.
  • Limited parking may be available at the clubhouse, but more spaces are in the nearby Jakes Creek parking area.
