Hike self-guided trails through blue and tan fossil-bearing rock layers deposited 31-28 million years ago. There are two trails here, the 0.75-mile Island in Time Trail and 3.25-mile Blue Basin Overlook Trail. Picnic tables and restrooms are located here as well.

No collecting is allowed and off-trail hiking in Blue Basin is strictly prohibited.
