The North Farm Garage, originally used as a pigeon cote and possibly chicken house, was built in 1880–90 as a single-story, three-walled structure north and west of the Lower House. The east wall originally had small holes for birds, and the west side was originally open until a wall was added in 1910.

In England, Europe and the United States, pigeons were valued for their tender meat, eggs, manure and feathers. The meat, particularly from younger birds, was considered a delicacy. Descendents of the Ridgely family have stated that part of this building was also a chicken coop. During the 1930s the building was converted into a garage by the Ridgely family.

Today the structure is used for public restrooms and is open from 9 am - 4 pm.
