Take the Echo T Trail to connect to the Barker Dam Trail from the Echo T parking lot. This trail follows a wash near unique rock formations. Meander among Joshua trees and other desert plants. Watch for climbers or try to spot desert bighorn sheep. Get ready for a minor rock scramble before connecting to the Barker Dam Nature Trail.
Along this hike you may see evidence of Native American rock art or petroglyphs. Respect the art by not touching or climbing on it.
Hike Echo T Trail as an out and back for an easy 1.4 mile (2.5km) roundtrip hike. Adding the Barker Dam Nature Trail increases your total hiking distance to 2.5 miles (4.0km) roundtrip.
