Elk Neck State Park is a 2,370-acre park that stands on a peninsula surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay to the west and the Elk River to the east. Located in Cecil County, Maryland, the park is divided into four distinct areas with varied habitats and recreational opportunities. The Turkey Point Lighthouse Area stands at the southern tip of the peninsula and is home to the Turkey Point Lighthouse, a unique lighthouse that was run by four female keepers between 1844 and 1948.

The other areas in the park include the North East Beach Area that features a popular swimming area, picnic shelters and grills; the Rogues Harbor Boat Launch Facility which allows public boat ramps to the Elk River and fishing piers; and the Elk River Camping Area which overs hundreds of campsites, a playground and nature center.
