La Ventana Natural Arch is New Mexico's second largest natural arch and an easy stop along Highway 117. The parking area features vault toilets and a shaded picnic area shortly down the trail. You can see excellent views of La Ventana Natural Arch from the parking area, but views only improve on the easy 1/4-mile walk up to the arch viewing point. Informational kiosks along the trail describe the area's unique geology.

To reach La Ventana Natural Arch, take exit 89 off I-40 and travel south on Highway 117 for about 18 miles. La Ventana Natural Arch is located on the east side of Highway 117 within El Malpais National Conservation Area managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
