Can damaged lands be restored? The vast desert in front of you was once rangeland. Prior to the 1920s, reports describe this country as a grassland covered by tobosa grass. Setters say pronghorn once ran here over the grassy flats. Visit this exhibit to find out what caused the loss of this native grassland and what the Park Service is doing to try to restore it.
