Smithfield Beach is a recreational fee area where visitors have river access to swim or launch personal boats. Commercial livery services also use Smithfield Beach to send visitors out of river trips.
Smithfield Beach is accessible from River Road so long as the road is not closed for weather or hazards.
Please Note:
On summer weekends, Smithfield Beach will fill up with visitors quickly. When all parking is full, the area closes until parking is available again. If you are planning a trip to Smithfield Beach, plan to arrive early and have everything you need for the day with you. If you leave the parking area, you forfeit your parking spot. Parking spots cannot be reserved or held for anyone as they are first come, first served.
Pets are NOT permitted at Smithfield Beach from Memorial Day until Labor Day.
Inflatable toys and floaties are not permitted in the swim area.
All visitors should wear lifejackets while in the water.
