Description

Looking for a way to give back to Buffalo National River this Earth Day?  Join members of the Buffalo National River Partners and other supporters for a river and/or trail clean up on Monday, April 22 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Participants will either paddle 2.5 miles  or hike 2.6 miles from Ponca to Steel Creek. Meet at the Ponca low-water bridge at 10 a.m. Be sure to dress appropriately.  Trash bags and gloves will be provided.  Bring a sack lunch, water and any other items you will need for your comfort.

Buffalo River Canoes will provide 20 canoes for those who might need one to help with the clean up.  If you’d like to help but need a canoe, please indicate on your registration. Cleanup participants will have the option to return to Ponca along the Buffalo River Trail (2.6 mile hike) or to arrange a vehicle shuttle.

The clean up is limited to 40 participants.

Reservation or Registration: Yes

Email lauren_ray@nps.gov to register. Please indicate whether you're registering for more than one person, whether you're doing the river or trail cleanup, and whether you need a boat provided.
