Description
Join local artisans at Alley Spring to see pioneer skills rekindled! This family-friendly event brings history to life, showing how raw materials were turned into essential goods.
Pioneers to the riverways region, like any pioneers, often needed goods that were unavailable in stores or too expensive. So, it was vital that inhabitants learned the skills necessary to create what they needed. These families utilized every ounce of the little resources at their disposal. Oftentimes, new goods were made from the leftovers of other products.
The skills and traditions of the settlement period were passed down from generation to generation. Over time, some folks became masters at creating a certain product. Today, this event shows off just a few of the many skills needed to live comfortably on the Ozark frontier.
