Description

Join Steven Saffold, a coastal Chumash descendant and artist as he teaches the special techniques on how to flint knap. Flintknapping is the shaping of stones, where you can possibly make a tool or decoration. Age requirement for this workshop will be for 15 years old and older. This workshop will require you to work with sharp objects. Materials and tools will be provided along with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), such as gloves and safety glasses.

Reservations are required for the 15 available spots. The workshop will take place outside on the front porch. In the event of high winds or rain, we may move the workshop inside the building.
Please arrive early. There is a short walk from the main parking lot to the culture center. Follow the trail to the right side of the bathrooms.
