Cedar Breaks National Monument

Fee:

Free. Participating in festival events is free of charge; however, as a federal fee area, all individuals over the age of 16 require an entrance pass to Cedar Breaks. Interagency Annual or America the Beautiful passes waive the entry fee of all individuals traveling together in one vehicle.

Description

This festival highlights the spectacular summer flowers of Cedar Breaks. Participate in activities that will help you learn about the unique subalpine habitats of Cedar Breaks and how the Monument has become an invaluable sanctuary for subalpine flora of the high plateau.

Guided Wildflower Walks
Join a ranger led program and explore the native, sub-alpine wildflowers at Cedar Breaks National Monument. The starting locations and duration of these programs vary, with sessions lasting from thirty minutes up to an hour and thirty minutes. Check in at the Visitors Center daily during the festival for specific detail.
 
Saturdays and Sundays Walks scheduled at 10:00 AM  and 2:00 PM
 
Monday through Friday Walks scheduled at 2:00 PM 
 
  
"Wildflower Works of Art - ART CONTEST
 
We are excited to be hosting our Wildflower Works of Art - Art Contest in conjunction with our 19th Annual Wildflower Festival! Seeing the super blooms of Cedar Breaks can be inspiring and we want to see the works of art you feel inspired to create!  
 
We will begin accepting submissions on July 6th and the final day for submissions will be July 31st. We are accepting all works of art, which can include (but is not limited to) paintings, drawings, sketches, photography, etc…  
 
How do I submit my work of art? 
-Submissions are to be sent to our email: cebrinfo@nps.gov 
-Since there is a chance of your submission being shared on our social media pages, the highest quality version or scan of your art is encouraged.  
-The title of your email submission should say “Wildflower Art Contest 2024”. Please include your name, age, and how you would like to be recognized or credited (first initial, last name; full first and last name; etc...) in the body of the email. 
-For photograph submissions, the use of Photoshop must be disclosed in the email. 
 
Are there different categories for the art contest? 
All art mediums will be reviewed collectively. However, we will divide submissions into two age categories: Youth (12 & under) and General Public (12 & over). A winner from each age category will be selected.  
 
When will I hear the results of the Art Contest? 
Each participant will be notified whether or not their submission has been selected. Results will be announced on August 14th.  
 
Rules of the Wildflower Works of Art - Art Contest: 
  • Each submission must be original, unpublished, the sole property of the participant, and not previously submitted in any other contest.  
  • There is only one entry per participant allowed. 
  • The winner must be willing to sign a photo-release granting permission for us to post their art online and use it in a poster or other publications. Credit will always be attributed to the owner. 
  • The use of any artificial intelligence/photo editing in the creation of an entire work of art is not allowed.   
  • The use of basic light/color correction and editing is allowed for photograph entries.  
  • The use of Photoshop must be disclosed in the submission of photograph entries.
  • Portrait orientation is preferred over landscape orientation for art submissions. All submissions will be accepted, regardless of portrait or landscape orientation, however only portrait-oriented submissions will be considered for the 2025 Wildflower Festival Poster.
