Description

The year of 2022 marks the 150th anniversary of the establishment of Yellowstone as the world's first national park. Yellowstone inspired and supported Indigenous cultures long before it became a park. Both leading to it becoming a national park and in the time since, Yellowstone continues to inspire art, music, literature, science, and a conservation movement that led to other national parks in America and around the world.

As part of the anniversary commemoration, Yellowstone National Park Lodges will host a public event on May 6, 2022, coinciding with the summer season opening of the Old Faithful Inn. There will be remarks from National Park Service and partner representatives, refreshments, and free Historic Yellow Bus tours of the Old Faithful Historic District area. A Native American Art Exhibition and Marketplace will be open throughout the weekend.
