Pre-Parade Party: 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Steel Canyon Golf Club - Event Parking @ 7840 Roswell Rd then walk or take the shuttle to the Party. No Parking at Party. Parade: Line-Up at 7:45 pm, Step-Off at 8:15 pm from Steel Canyon Golf Club. Parade along Morgan Falls Rd to Morgan Falls Overlook Park. After-Parade: Lantern Festival, Water Lantern Viewing, Live Band at Morgan Falls Overlook Park until 10 pm. No vehicles along parade route or to Overlook Park. Shuttles will run to and from Event Parking (7840 Roswell Rd) after the parade until 10 pm.

Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is proud to support the City of Sandy Springs Lantern Parade!

The Lantern Parade is an evening filled with fantastical puppets and glowing lanterns! Families bring handcrafted lanterns, celebrate as the sun sets, then parade down Morgan Falls Road, arriving at the Chattahoochee River!

Overview:

  • Participants and attendees park at 7840 Roswell Rd and ride the shuttle to the Pre-Parade Party at Steel Canyon Golf Club.
  • The Pre-Parade Party will have a DJ, Food Trucks, Balloon Artist, Bubble Station, and Dance Crew performance from 6 - 8 pm. 
  • Parade steps off at 8:15 pm and walks .7 miles downhill to Morgan Falls Overlook Park. 
  • After-Parade Festival at Morgan Falls Overlook Park until 10pm, featuring floating, glowing Water Lanterns, hundreds of glowing lanterns on land, puppets, and a performance by the Black Sheep ensemble brass band. 
  • Shuttles run back to event parking at 7840 Roswell Rd from the end of the parade until 10pm.

Notes:

  • No cars are allowed at or along the Parade events - plan to park at Event Parking or take Public Transit
  • Restrooms are available at Event Parking, Pre-Party Party, and Overlook Park. 
  • No bicycles are allowed on the parade route. No pets or drones at this event.
