Description
Join the National Park Service as we welcome new citizens during a naturalization ceremony at Point Reyes National Seashore on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. This is one of many naturalization ceremonies taking place in national parks during Citizenship Week this year under a partnership between the National Park Service and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
The ceremony will take place at 11 am on Tuesday, September 13, at the Bear Valley Picnic Area at Point Reyes National Seashore. The ceremony has been cancelled for 2022. Check back in summer of 2023 for details about a naturalization ceremony in 2023.
For directions and a map to help you get to the Bear Valley Picnic Area, visit our Directions page.
To help reduce traffic congestion in the paved parking lot adjacent to the Bear Valley Visitor Center, please park your vehicle(s) in the gravel, picnic area parking lot on the left (east) side of the access road close to the Bear Valley Trailhead. Download the Bear Valley Area Map (427 KB PDF), which shows the location of the picnic area parking lot relative to picnic area and the Bear Valley Visitor Center.
The National Park Service and USCIS recently renewed a formal partnership to enhance citizenship ceremonies by holding them in national parks throughout the country. The agreement helps introduce new citizens to some of the nation's most significant natural resources and cultural heritage sites. These historic and picturesque sites provide an ideal backdrop for citizenship ceremonies, where new citizens can learn about and reflect on American identity and the responsibilities of citizenship.
