Description

Join special speaker Kenneth J. Daidone as he tells the story of early radio pioneer Reginald Aubrey Fessenden.  Fessenden is credited with sending the first voice signal through the air.  In 1902 Fessenden transmitted his radio signals 50 miles to Hatteras, N.C. from right here in Manteo.  Later Fessenden would also create the basis of Radar and Sonar and holds 500 patents.  Programs will be given near the Outer Banks Repeater Club's radio setup.  After listening about the founder of voice radio see how it works.  Join the Outer Banks Repeater Club's radio display and even participate, getting on radio as well.
