Experience the vibrant music of Mariachi Tenampa. Come join us for a FREE event to honor the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) holiday on Saturday, November 2nd!
Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a vibrant holiday celebrated in Mexico and many other countries in Latin America that honors our loved ones who have passed away. Family and friends come together to remember them, believing that death is just a part of life. During this special time, people think that the spirits of those who have died return to Earth for happy reunions, reminding us that they are still a part of our lives and our community.
Families create ofrendas, or altars, at home and in public places to honor their loved ones. At our monument, we’ve held a special tradition since 1993, when an altar was established in memory of César Chávez after his passing. Since then, community members have continued to set up altars here, paying tribute to their loved ones who have passed away. We warmly encourage visitors to bring their own mementos to contribute to our community altar, creating a beautiful space of remembrance. Alters will stay up until November 17.

El Día de los Muertos es una festividad vibrante celebrada en México y muchos otros países de América Latina para honrar a nuestros seres queridos que han fallecido. Familiares y amigos se reúnen para recordarlos, creyendo que la muerte es solo una parte de la vida. Durante este tiempo especial, se piensa que los espíritus de quienes han fallecido regresan a la Tierra para reuniones felices, recordándonos que siguen siendo parte de nuestras vidas y nuestra comunidad.
Las familias crean ofrendas, o altares, en casa y en lugares públicos para honrar a sus seres queridos. En nuestro monumento, hemos mantenido una tradición especial desde 1993, cuando se estableció un altar en memoria de César Chávez después de su fallecimiento. Desde entonces, los miembros de la comunidad han seguido montando altares aquí, rindiendo homenaje a sus seres queridos que han fallecido. Animamos cordialmente a los visitantes a traer sus propios recuerdos para contribuir a nuestro altar comunitario, creando un hermoso espacio de recuerdo. Los altares permanecerán hasta el 17 de Noviembre.
