Description
Join us for special evenings at Old Slater Mill. On the first Friday of the month (June 2, July 7, August 4, September 1, and October 6), the mill will be open late with special programming. Concerts, movie nights, special tours and more are offered on the first Friday evenings of the month from June to October. All First Friday Programs are FREE and open to all.

Friday, July 7, 2023 - Featuring Live Music and Industrial Archeology Tour
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Join us for a fun-filled night of history and music.
We will kick off the night with an industrial archeology walking tour at 5:30 PM with park intern Trevor Lamb, a PhD candidate at Boston University.
After the tour, folks are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket, pack some snacks, and sit and listen to musical performances with the backdrop of the sunset. Performances will feature local artists Ben Shaw and Bucket List.
Family-friendly drop-in activities will also be available.
Friday, June 2, 2023 - Featuring JL Santos Spencer and Friends

Join us for our First Friday Open House of the summer season. We will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Cape Verdean independence with local artist and performer JL Santos Spencer. A fun-filled night of family acitivities, specialty tours offered in Portuguese, and music.
Things to Do:
- Take a Tour of Slater Mill in Portuguese & Cape-Verdean Creole
- Watch the Slater Mill Orientation Video with voiceover in Portuguese - PREMIERE!
- Enjoy Live Music Featuring JL Santos Spencer & Friends (starts at 6 PM)
