Description
Join James A. Garfield NHS staff and volunteers at Mentor Public Library on the second Wednesday of each month for a new talk on “Leaders & Legacies of the Civil War Era”! Union Gen. William T. Sherman promised to “make Georgia howl” after capturing Atlanta in September 1864. What did he mean, and how did he do this on his famous “March to the Sea” in November-December of that year? Was Sherman really a “butcher” and “war criminal” as southerners called him? Find out in this presentation!
