Learn about spiders and the basics of how to ID these amazing creatures in this WV Master Naturalist (MN) elective course. The first part (10:00 - 11:00 am) of this class will be a talk at the Canyon Rim Visitor Center (VC) picnic shelter with some exploration of the VC garden, while the second, optional "field" portion (11:00 am - 1:00 pm) of this class will be a spider field study, car caravaning to several nearby park locations. WV MN students must attend the entire 3 hr. class to earn MN elective course certificate. Bring a hand lens or some will be available. Be prepared for an easy to moderate walk during "field" portion of class.
10:00 patio talk + (on-site talk in CRVC picnic shelter and garden 10:00 - 11:00, then car caravan to area park locations for further spider field study 11:00 - 1:00)
