Description
Celebrate National Park Week by cleaning up the shores of the iconic Mississippi River. Volunteers typically remove hundreds of pounds of litter during these biannual cleanup events, with the majority of that trash being non-biodegradable plastic. This has a huge impact on our waterways, community, and region.
Thanks to all the following area organizations helping to make this event a success: Gateway Arch Park Foundation, Beyond Plastics, Mississippi River Cities and Towns Initiative, Missouri Stream Team, Republic Services, and Living Lands and Waters.
For more information, contact the volunteer program coordinators.
Reservation or Registration: Yes
All trash pickup volunteers must register in advance through VolunteerHub. When you register for the event, you will get an automated email the day before telling you where to park to receive free parking. All volunteers will also receive gloves and training to ensure they stay safe during the event, as well as a special appreciation item. There is no required uniform. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes.
