Description
During Native American Heritage Month, discover the culture and history of the Chitimachas, the only tribe in Louisiana still residing on ancestral homeland. Films (shown on request) are Native Waters, A Chitimacha Recollection and The Chitimacha. Exhibit on tribal life courtesy of the Chitimacha Cultural Department.
The Acadian Cultural Center is located at 501 Fisher Road in Lafayette. The center is open Tuesday-Friday 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m.-noon. The center is closed on federal holidays.
