Description
On Saturday, September 11th, Pipestone National Monument invites YOU to participate in a Mushroom (and Other Fungi) BioBlitz!
Participants will meet at the Visitor Center at 8:45 am for a short introductory meeting before heading out to less-explored areas of the park to search for some fungal finds (9 am - 11 am). The event is free and all ages are welcome - all you need is your smartphone! Simply photograph any fungi you encounter in the park and upload your observations to the iNaturalist app (be sure to download this free app before you arrive at the park!). These observations help park rangers and other scientists better understand the fungal diversity in this area.
The event will be outdoors and off-trail so please plan and dress accordingly. To reserve your spot(s) for this special event, please call (507) 825-5464, ext. 214.
