A stroll through the beautiful park-like grounds of Lakeview Cemetery is a walk into Copper Country history. From veterans of our nation's wars to victims of the Italian Hall disaster, this walk will introduce visitors to the layout and history of the cemetery and its more than 34,800 interments. Identify symbolism common to area grave markers on this one mile walk along paved and graveled paths.
Meet at the small gazebo and map behind the cemetery office at 24090 Veterans Memorial Highway (M-203) Calumet Township, Michigan. Prepare to be outdoors for an hour or more; bring your own water. Sun protection is recommended. Thanks to the Lakeview Cemetery Association for their go-ahead for this tour!
