Jazz Piano Hour

featuring

Keiko Komaki

419 Decatur St, New Orleans

Keiko Komaki trained as a classical pianist as a child in Japan, but moved to New Orleans to follow her passion for funk and jazz. She cut her chops under the tutelage of blues maven Big Marva Wright and band leader Benny Turner, and has since played with a Who’s Who of New Orleans talent across the spectrum of musical styles. She was an integral part of the Playing for Change project, including performing “The Weight” with Robbie Robertson and Ringo Starr.
