Wilderness Visitor Center: Take William Floyd Parkway (Route 46) to Smith Point County Park for access to the Wilderness Visitor Center. Parking is available in the parking lot just east of the Wilderness Visitor Center, a small hexagonal building to your right as you are headed south.

The New York Marine Rescue Center leads this presentation about the secret life of seals in the waters off Fire Island and Long Island. Learn about the nature of these marine mammals, why we find them “hauled out” on the beach in winter, and how you can help protect them.
