Description

The Museum of Work & Culture in partnership with the Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park invite you to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 22 from 10am-2pm with a free museum open house.

Begin the day with a birding/nature walk led by National Park Service rangers, complete with binoculars and exploration kits. Explore the new exhibit Flowing Through Time: Nature, Industry and Communities of the Blackstone River with museum Staff or participate in water quality testing with the Blackstone River Coalition. Sit in on a book reading and talk by local children’s author Jed Griswold and illustrator Jerry Aissis or learn about pollution and storm runoff through a demonstration of an Enviroscape. In the Museum gallery, participants will get a chance to draw and color what they would like their environment to look like in 10 years or write a letter to their representative about an environmental concern.

This event is free and appropriate for all ages. Event will run rain or shine. For questions please contact the Museum of Work & Culture by emailing mowc@rihs.org or calling (401) 769-9675.
