Topic: “Second to None” Washington and His Monument

The Washington Monument stands 555 feet 5 1/8 inches tall, a towering figure of monumental architecture in the heart of the nation’s capital. It is the tallest free standing masonry structure in the world. A fitting tribute for a man who dedicated his life to public service and struggled with the morality of 18th century America. A man who fought for our independence, chaired the Constitutional Convention and became our first president. Come learn about George Washington, and the importance of the Washington Monument in the American mentality.
