Description

Join Park Ranger Jerry Hightower and the volunteer staff for a terrific kid’s fishing program and round-the-pond stroll. Young and young at heart start the morning adventure angling for fish (equipment and bait provided) or investigating the shallows at the spillway of the beautiful pond looking for minnows, turtles, tadpoles, and froglets. Enjoy a very leisurely stroll around Sibley Pond and discover the beautiful sights and sounds of nature on a lovely summer afternoon. We will look for signs of wildlife, talk about plants used by early inhabitants, and view activity in the clear waters of Sibley Pond. The morning’s activities are very casual and informal. You are invited to bring a picnic for after the stroll

This will be easy fishing suitable for elementary aged children. Adults are welcome to fish, but MUST POSSESS A GEORGIA FISHING LICENSE. Kids under 16 years of age do not need a license. For safety and quality, this fishing experience is limited to 20 kids under 16 years of age. All kids must be accompanied by an adult.

Remember to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on a path along a pond. Don't forget sunscreen and a hat is a good idea. Bring water and you might need to include snacks.
