Description
Archaeology Month Open House at Old Slater Mill National Historic Landmark
Experience Rhode Island Archaeology Month at Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park. Learn about the archaeological digs that have taken place at Old Slater Mill National Historic Landmark and see a model of the Wilkinson water wheel. Watch footage of archaeologists working on the site and conduct a search for small treasures. Free, hands-on activities suitable for young visitors will be available. The Sunday open house will also feature an exhibit on the Rhode Island stove industry created by Joe LyonWurm, Executive Director and Public Anthropologist at Everyday Anthropology. Presented in partnership with Old Slater Mill Association.
